Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix is a minister who was ordained by Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a primary school teacher in Balboa Magnet. Felix showed an early aptitude for sports when she was attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting talent at that at the time. Within a short time after her initial attempt, she was second in the 200 meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school and subsequently signed an official contract with Adidas. In 2004, she enrolled in her first year at the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. She set a Junior World Record by running 200 metres in 22.18 second. The year 2005 was the time she was the youngest 200-meter world champion during the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007, defeating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She consistently placed in the top three of the events.
